A range-extender electric vehicle is always driven by its electric motor. A small petrol engine works only as a generator, recharging the battery when it runs low, so the car drives like an EV but refuels like a conventional car.
Four Changan NEVO models offer EREV versions: the Q06 and E07 SUVs and the A06 and A07 sedans. Electric-only CLTC range is 200 to 310 km — enough for most daily driving without starting the engine — and the E07 EREV reaches up to 1,145 km CLTC combined.

EREVs fit markets where charging networks are still thin, where winters are long and cold, or where customers drive long distances between cities. They are also easier to sell to first-time EV buyers, because there is no need to plan trips around chargers. Our guide EREV vs pure EV compares the costs.
No. It can run on petrol alone, but charging lets owners drive most kilometres on cheaper electricity.
In an EREV the engine never drives the wheels. In the Q07 PHEV it can, through an electronic CVT.
The manufacturer specifies 92-octane petrol for the range-extender engines.
